Greetings!
My name is Robin Whitson-O’Flinn. I am currently a DDP student and have had the awesome experience of serving as 2003-2004 Vice President and Senate Chair I have also had the pleasure to serve in the position of Senator and Treasurer on the 2003-2004 Senate.
I live in Yakima, Washington. I am a mother of four children. My eldest daughter is 14 years old; I have a 13 year old son and twin (boy and girl) seven year olds. I have been married eighteen years to my best friend. I am legally blind, which impairs me from reading text conventionally. I have computer software and hardware that aids me in my challenges and I read Braille. The Distance Degree Program has made it possible for me to participate in a learning environment where my disability is a non-issue.
This has been an awesome year. I have been working with a very motivated and dynamic group of leaders. It is a challenge to extract a sense of comradery in a distance learning setting. However, the ASWSU-DDP has afforded me the opportunity to make connections with other DDP students and given me an outlet to meet their needs. I believe through experience and communication I can lead the 2004-2005 Senate into an even more productive year. I pledge to represent the needs of the distant degree student body and enhance their WSU experience wherever possible.
The ASWSU-DDP is an excellent resource for all DDP students to get involved and interact with their classmates. I am honored to have had the opportunity to be a part of this group and look forward to serving next year.
